just lil life things

The sun is beaming in the window.

So I sit at the kitchen table.

So I may write in the sun.

Awhile ago

I fished out hay from the water trough

And then walked to the gate

And horse trotted behind to catch up

So she may walk beside me.

We trudged through the mud,

My boots wore the pasture,

Her hooves did too.

There is a new niece.

How did we just carry on

about life

before

without her?

A mystery to me.

She is lovely as can be.

The teachers stop by for iced chais.

one Friday eve.

We share stories.

drinks.

and friendship.

Daycare.

A job I anticipate

every Monday morning.

A job where I get to cuddle babies,

all day.

I get to teach.

Teach them how to

use

spoons,

motor skills,

velcro straps,

and kind hands.

We build snowmen.

We play in sensory stuff,

which is personally my favourite.

We go on walks.

A job where love multiples.

A job that challenges.

A job where I get the pressing privilege

to care for souls

at such a vulnerable age.

Grace is nurtured.

Friendship is forged.

Babies teeter into toddlers.

And some days my job

doesn’t feel like a job at all.

Doyle n Bethany

hosted a good ol game night.

Twas a high quality evening

Of laughter and competition

And the most delicious ooey gooey peanut butter bars.

Two things

that are not my favourites right now:

Patience.

And painting.

I painted my closet.

The only thing I will ever again agree to paint

is MAYBE the dog house.

But thats it.

Beginning of story -

I did not recieve a speck of

dad’s painting skills.

End of story.

Some of my favourite things lately -

lavender skies

black friday sales

mango smoothies

puffy duvet covers

oranges

dark chocolate. plain or dipped in hot coffee

lattes after supper. with dad.

fuzzy sock season

baked mini doughnuts

and so the world is gearing up for Christmas.

I am wholeheartedly welcoming all the Christmas vibes.

I hope courage is alive in your heart.

I hope you find lil moments of awe amoung the ordinary.

I hope you have hope.
