present

10:00 friday night. I sit in the screened in porch. The rain is gently arriving, creating a melody that only rain can. Hot coco safe in my sleeve covered hands.

I'm glad I'm alive.

Carrying two full french presses out to the school room for our authority mtg. Mr Todd offers to carry one, for he sees the struggle of coffee sloshing down the dress front.

Im glad I'm alive.

Mr. Danny, ms trula, and I head to a street taco truck for a saturday eve munch. We dine at the park while the sunset debuts the creativity of the Father. Then ms trula suggests we go to the new gas station for coffee and doughnuts. We go. The price is actually half off. We drive thru town - coffee and doughnuts and never ending powows.

I'm glad I'm alive.

My car and I meander up the driveway to the ranch house. And while I drive I look up on the hill and there are girls and their horses and their journals scattered out among the hill/round pen area. They are all sitting on the ground. Each has a horse contently hanging out beside them. Their journal in their lap, reflecting on something. It's such a neat scene. I smile.

I'm glad I'm alive.

School is going well. It's a joy to be back behind a teacher's desk, planning lessons, and answering division questions.

I'm glad I'm alive.

>hanging out with youth. and there is joy in the heart.

>naps before supper plans.

>observing these girls do the next right thing.

I'm glad I'm alive.

I lace up my new-to-me, 4 wheel, retro roller-skates and awkwardly step onto the park trails. This is a new experience. My arms wing around, grabbing for balance while I stumble into a new hobby. In one ungraceful moment, my phone went flying out of my pocket and clashed with the cement and now I have phone problems.

I'm glad I'm alive.

No matter the moment, ungraceful or not, I want to be present with this present of being alive.

ps. kenny's arrive tomorrow night.

pss. i welcome any roller skating tips.
