We Fill

We fill up water bottles. We fill up gas tanks and lunch kits and flower vases. We fill up our schedule. We fill things up all the time.

But what do we fill our hearts with?

Are we actually ever empty? We may feel empty, but are we? Are we not always full of something? Pride, doubt, guilt. Joy, contentment, gratitude. Maybe a wild mixture of both….

Maybe we are stuffed, saturated more than we realise. Maybe we use things/people to fill ourselves up more than we realise. Maybe we have more self-coping mechanisms than we realise. Or even dare to admit.

What are we doing in our daily lives that fill ourselves up - without even knowing?

I want to be empty of self and full of God. I want to love like there is no tomorrow. Laugh like it's breath to my soul. And forgive like Jesus. I want to take note of what I'm filling myself up with on a daily basis. I want to be careful about this. And then I want to helplessly overflow.

Cuz really, truly it's Jesus that our souls really desire. Our souls were made for Him. that is their home.

Just how we have to continually fill up stuff in our daily lives, so we have to continually fill up our souls with life giving stuff...

Its a everyday choice.

Staying close with Jesus, the Bible, nature, Godly friends...

How rewarding would life be if our souls were filled up with what they were made to be? If we actually took note of how and when and where we fill ourselves up…
